Credits and renewing
Why a free server has an expiry date and how you push it back.
The principle
Free here means no card, no trial period, no countdown running in the background. It does not mean a server runs forever with nobody looking at it.
Every instance has an expiry date. Renewing costs credits, and you earn credits. That is the whole deal: whoever uses their server keeps it, and whoever forgets it frees up the space.
Earning credits
- You get a starting balance when you create the account.
- Once a day you can claim a bonus.
- Referrals pay credits once the invited account confirms its address and creates its first instance. Not on signup, because that would fund a bot farm.
What happens if you do not renew
- We remind you before it expires.
- When the time runs out the instance is suspended. It is off, but everything is still there.
- A grace period starts. During it you can renew and carry on.
- When the grace period runs out too, the instance is deleted. Container, directory and backups go together.
